Introducing Ask by Ansel Edwards

Here’s your chance to get guidance from The Good Men Project on the tough questions you face every day in your personal and professional lives.

___

Let's Talk EthicsMaking decisions is hard work. Making ethical decisions is even harder, especially when news of what we decide can travel around the world in nanoseconds as tweets, status updates, and other forms of insta-embarrassment on a global scale.

The dictionary defines ethics as the moral principles that govern a person’s or group’s behavior. Ethics are the baseline rules that guide our conduct in all our personal and professional pursuits—business, sports, academic studies, social activities, and platonic and romantic relationships. When we feel queasy about a decision or an action—ours or someone else’s—it’s usually because we’re wondering if it’s ethical (even if we’re not thinking of that word), and whether we should step in and stop ourselves or call the other person out on the questionable behavior. Ethical questions are the ones that keep us up all night, or wake us with a start at 4:00 in the morning.

While many of our articles confront and offer guidance on ethical questions, they often do it indirectly—through story, modeling, or informal advice. “Let’s Talk Ethics” will take your quandaries, dilemmas, and perplexing situations and address them head on, as best we can, employing the minds of The Good Men Project‘s thinkers and writers. You can then make your own choices, armed with our best expertise.

So send us your questions, please. We’re here and ready to help you navigate the ethics challenges you face every day.

Here’s how to send your questions to “Let’s Talk Ethics”:
